The History of 5th Coy

5th Company started in 1934 and was then sponsored by Katong Presbyterian Church in Joo Chiat. In the 1990s when Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary School was built in Bishan St. 13, 5th Company was subsquently relocated to operate in the secondary school. Our sponsoring school is Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary School and our sponsoring church is Adam Road Presbyterian Church.

BB 5th Coy Logo

The roman five behind the anchor in the logo represents the 5th Company, who will always bear The Boys' Brigade in the front, to direct our focal point: The object of The Boys' Brigade shall be the advancement of Christ's Kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-Respect and all that tends towards a true Christian Manliness. The three shades of the roman five symbolise the hard struggles for survival and competition through the rugged and hard-fought 80 years (since 1934); what we have in the present; and also the glow of the promising future as 5th Company marches forth.
